Abstract:
The transition to the market economy invariably influenced the evolution of the Romanian food market, both qualitatively and quantitatively. Thus the food commodity gained new valences, especially from a socio-economic point of view, and the quality was redefined and redesigned in the new economic space. The quality approach, as an element of company competitiveness, has led to a resizing of the concept of quality, starting from the product and from process to organization. On the other hand, inthe perspective of Romania's integration into the European economic space has already made important steps in harmonizing and implementing the Romanian legislation with that of the EU in terms of standardization, control and quality assurance of food. At present, particular emphasis is placed on food safety, both for producers and for food traders. JEL: Q13,Q14
