dc.description.abstract The course International Trade Law provides a comprehensive overview of key theoretical concepts and practical tools essential for students engaging with this discipline. It also serves as a valuable resource for legal practitioners and scholars dealing with legal issues related to the institutions and mechanisms governing international trade law. This course examines the foundational legal frameworks that shape international commercial relations. Topics include an overview of global trade, the legal status of actors involved in international commerce, and the general theory of international commercial contracts—such as the international sale of goods, intermediation contracts, international transport agreements, insurance contracts, and other transactions typical in cross-border trade. The field covered in this course continues to gain significance due to the expanding global economy. In the context of increasing foreign investment in the Republic of Moldova, the regulation of legal relationships between parties from different jurisdictions becomes a vital component of international economic cooperation. This material has been developed primarily in light of international conventions to which the Republic of Moldova is a party, supplemented by relevant provisions of the Civil Code and the Code of Civil Procedure, as well as applicable soft law instruments in international trade. Additionally, it draws on case law and arbitration practice from the International Commercial Arbitration Court under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova. The current course aims not only to inform but also to encourage exploration. It is designed as a practical guide for those seeking a solid understanding of the legal dimensions of international trade. Its structure aligns with the curriculum and lecture topics, while also considering the real needs of professionals in the field and the importance of clarifying the scope and application of trade-related legal norms.
