dc.description.abstract The most popular manufactured drink consumed in the world, including coffee, chocolate, soft drinks and alchool- is TEA.Tea represents an aromatic beverage commonly prepared by pouring hot or boiling water over cured leaves of the Camellia sinensis, an evergreen shrub (bush) native to East Asia.It originates from South Asia, during the Shang Dynasty, where it, firstly, was used as a medicine. During the history, the propierties of this beverage where revealde and it helped to the development of the economy of the states where it is produced. The goal of this research is to identify the role of tea in the global economy, by summarizinf positive and negative effects. In order to achieve the established goal, several research has been used, i.e. comparative and statistical analysis, as well as deduction. As conclusion , this reasearh highlights that tea is one of the main important factors which contribute to the development of tthe world market. JEL: F18, F23, F63, F66 en_US
