dc.description.abstract This article describes the start and development of judicial rhetorics as a science of eloquence and persuasion. The actuality of this topic originates from the fact that rhetorics fill in the ensemble of social relations transparent in the course of communication, human interaction, political debates, daily communication, judicial decisions or in scientific findings and oratory virtuosity. The evolution of rhetorics follows a twisted course of development along history. This is the reason why the current article uses a historical research method for its study goal. For paralegals is of a particular importance the unveiling of past events and regulations that ultimately follow from such events, thus impacting the area of law by changing regulations and developing judicial frameworks. In each law/rule there are highlighted the real needs of life at a particular time, thus expressing a certain state of society’s habits. Other research methods that contributed to the study of rhetorics in the article include the interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary methods. Because of the strict specialization of rhetorics there is currently a distinction between political, judiciary, scientific and sacred oratory types of rhetoric; therefore there is also a high need to study the general values of eloquence at least in universities if not in high school programs. The current downfall of verbal communication is mostly due to the excessive use of visual informational manipulation, this however generates an obligation on us to continue the study and use of verbal communication for the upcoming generations. Unknown are the consequences of the current situation for the human intelligence itself, which is threatened to forget its fate. JEL: Z130 en_US
