Abstract:
This article examines the influence of cultural stereotypes on the career advancement of women in European business environments. The study explores how deeply rooted social norms, gender expectations, and cultural perceptions shape professional opportunities, leadership representation, and decision-making processes. Special attention is given to the differences between Western and Easten European countries, where cultural frameworks and attitudes toward gender roles vary significantly. The paper analyzes both barriers and enabling factors that affect women career trajectories, including organizational culture, work-life balance expectations, and implicit biases. Furthermore, the article highlights recent trends toward gender equality and the growing role of inclusive corporate policies. The findings suggest that while progress has been made, cultural stereotypes continue to subtly influence career outcomes. The study emphasizes the importance of addressing these stereotypes through policy changes, education, and organizational transformation to create more equitable and supportive business environments for women across Europe.
