Abstract:
This study addresses the current status of the Belt and Road Initiative, one of the most important contemporary global economic cooperation initiatives, analyzing its impact on the economy and international relations. The purpose of the research is to assess both the benefits and challenges generated by the BRI in the participating states. The methodology used includes a qualitative analysis of the specialized literature and a study of relevant cases, such as Greece, Pakistan and Cambodia. The results highlight the fact that, although the initiative contributes to the development of infrastructure, increased connectivity and economic stimulation, it also generates risks related to debt sustainability, investment transparency and unequal distribution of benefits. Thus, the impact of the BRI is complex and differs depending on the economic and institutional context of each country analyzed. CZU: 339.94:339.542.2; JEL: F2, F4, F6
