Abstract:
In the context of modern society’s aim to align with European standards, it is essential to examine prisoner’s rights through the lens of European legislation. Deprivation of liberty and detention conditions must meet the standards imposed by international institutions. Furthermore, the law should protect the human components of life in order to reduce the vulnerability of this social category. The importance of this study lies in highlighting the necessity of improving legislation regarding detention. The main directives of this research will focus on: optimizing living standards in prison, ensuring accessibility to medical assistance, guaranteeing access to information within permitted limits and other. By identifying the factors that hinder significant progress in modernizing detention conditions, this study will serve as a resource through which the justice system can ensure fairness, even for those deprived of liberty, who remain a part of society.
