dc.description.abstract This comprehensive paper analyzes the complex structure and strategic management of the family budget within the Republic of Moldova, utilizing primary statistical data from the year 2024 as its analytical foundation. The research objective is to identify the prevailing sources of household income and the dominant directions of consumer expenditure to establish viable methods for microeconomic financial optimization. The research methodology integrates a multi-dimensional approach, combining a rigorous quantitative analysis of official reports provided by the National Bureau of Statistics with the practical application of recognized financial modeling tools and behavioral techniques. Specifically, the study evaluates the 50/30/20 budgeting rule, the zero-based budgeting principle, and the envelope method as primary instruments for cash flow control. Furthermore, it incorporates the financial calendar for liquidity synchronization and the 24-hour rule to mitigate the impact of impulsive consumption on household reserves. The empirical results reveal a critical dependence on active income sources, while essential needs absorb approximately 57% of total disposable income, significantly exceeding theoretical thresholds. This structural imbalance emphasizes the urgent necessity for enhanced financial literacy and the implementation of rigorous household planning to mitigate the risks of over-indebtedness. The study concludes that rationalizing the family budget through an integrated framework of classical rules and behavioral strategies is essential for improving resilience in a volatile market environment. These findings provide a strategic guide for households aiming to transition from a subsistence-based financial model to one focused on sustainable economic growth.
