Abstract:
This paper extensively explores the motivational duality of Generation Z within the modern workplace, highlighting the complex balance between material rewards and personal development opportunities. In addition to the traditional focus on financial compensation, the entry of this new generation into the labor market has a profound impact on organizational retention strategies and employee engagement. By analyzing the interplay between extrinsic and intrinsic motivators, the study reveals how Gen Z prioritizes professional growth and meaningful work alongside economic stability. Thus, organizations can turn their attention to creating hybrid incentive models that address the need for financial security and the desire for continuous learning and self-actualization. From here, there is a lot to explore regarding how these preferences will reshape the future of human resource management. CZU: 331.101.3:[005.954.6+005.963]; JEL: J13, J24, M52
