dc.description.abstract Electoral corruption is one of the most serious threats to democracy and the fair electoral process. In essence, electoral corruption involves the manipulation of votes and electoral procedures through various illicit means such as bribery, intimidation, fraud and the use of public resources for partisan purposes. These practices not only undermine the integrity of elections, but also erode citizens' confidence in democratic institutions and the political system as a whole.
