Abstract:
Private capital is increasingly attracted to modernise public infrastructure, and interest in public-private partnerships (PPP) has grown. PPPs are a form of cooperation between the public and private sectors used to develop infrastructure and deliver public services. PPP projects usually involve long-term contracts and significant investments, carried out by allocating responsibilities, risks and benefits between the partners. Under such a contract, the asset may belong to one partner, the services may be controlled by another, and the risks and the right to recover the investment may be shared between them in different ways. For this reason, accounting must determine which partner recognises the items arising from the contract and what exactly it recognises. UDC: 657.4:347.44:[334.722+334.724](478)(043)
