This course notes, Culture and Ethics in Business, was designed to provide a comprehensive yet practical framework for analyzing the interaction between organizational culture, ethical conduct, and sustainable business practices. It addresses fundamental concepts of organizational culture, the methods of evaluating and changing culture, and the ways in which cultural factors shape organizational effectiveness. Ethical theories and dilemmas are explored through both classical approaches and modern business challenges, enabling readers to identify, understand, and resolve issues with integrity and responsibility. Beyond the theoretical foundation, the book emphasizes the practical application of culture and ethics in real business contexts. It introduces models for diagnosing organizational culture, stages of moral development within firms, and structured approaches to ethical decision-making. The chapters also address contemporary challenges such as sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, and the role of stakeholders in shaping business practices. Special attention is given to business etiquette, both locally and internationally, recognizing that effective communication and intercultural understanding are critical for global cooperation and competitiveness. |
