Abstract: This text explores the technological impact on banking operations, starting from the industrial revolutions and reaching the transformations brought about by artificial intelligence (AI). The bank, as a key financial institution, has undergone major changes, evolving from manual processes to the automation of banking activities through AI, directly influencing the financial industry. Artificial intelligence, with its capabilities of machine learning, natural language processing, and autonomous decision-making, redefines credit, deposit, and payment and settlement operations. In credit operations, AI optimizes risk assessment processes, speeding up loan approvals and enhancing customer experience. Deposit operations benefit from process automation, personalized customer experiences, and improved offerings. In the field of payments and settlements, AI supports the prevention of money laundering. CZU: 004.8:336.717; JEL: O33, G21
