In today's socio-economic context, artificial intelligence (AI) has become a transformative factor, reshaping industries, changing business paradigms and decisively influencing market competitiveness. The purpose of the research is to assess the impact of AI on the economy and society, identifying the opportunities and challenges that this technology presents. The research methods used include analysis of existing literature, evaluation of case studies and synthesis of secondary data to build a balanced argument between the benefits and risks of AI. A special emphasis is placed on comparative tables, which present the advantages and disadvantages of AI in a social context, illustrating the complexity of the subject. Among the most relevant results is identifying AI as a major engine of economic growth and innovation, capable of contributing up to 14% of global GDP by 2030, representing a major economic commercial opportunity. This finding underlines the transformative potential of AI, which not only reshapes services and contributes to sustainable growth, but also paves the way for new ways of human-machine integration, improving productivity and economic activities. On the other hand, AI presents challenges, including threats to jobs and ethical and social concerns related to human autonomy and equity. CZU: 004.8[316.4:330.34]; JEL: O31, O33, O35en_US
