Abstract: | Social policy is a set of government measures, strategies and actions that are designed and implemented to improve the average standard of living of the society by providing some support and creating the sustainable environment for all citizens of a country. In the Republic of Moldova, the main body that regulates social policies is the National Social Insurance Agency (CNAS). The main functions of CNAS provide for the following aspects as: record of payers and social insurance contributions to BASS (State Social Insurance Budget), management of the social insurance budget and establishment, payment and record of benefits granted to citizens. The last point being analyzed in detail during the elaborate work, will show us the level with which the state is involved in supporting the Moldovans compared to a country-leader in the field of social policies.
