Abstract:
This paper analyzes the potential impact of new U.S. trade policies on transatlantic economic relations, in particular on the economic profile of European Union and the Republic of Moldova, an open economy that is very vulnerable to changes in global trade. The aim of the research is to find out how the new tariff measure affects international trade, supply chains and economic stability of the affected partners. The research is based on an analyticaldescriptive methodology, assuming the completion by comparative analysis and interpretation of official statistical data from international institutional sources. The study examines the evolution of US-EU trade relations, highlighting both historical cooperation and episodes of tariff conflict, culminating in the 2025 tariff decisions and European reactions. The consequences raise economic uncertainty and trade dangers, bringing to light the increased interdependence of transatlantic economies and the importance of multilateral coordination of trade divergences.
