Abstract:
The IT industry is a dynamic and evolving sector, encompassing all activities related to the development, design, implementation and use of information technologies. The IT industry is present in many sectors of the economy and is one of the most important drivers of the global economy, having a significant impact on many sectors of the economy, including business, communications, education and healthcare. The IT industry continues to be largely male-dominated, with women accounting for only around 20% of the workforce worldwide. This gender inequality can be attributed to a combination of factors, including gender stereotyping, gender discrimination and cultural and communication barriers. The purpose of the work is to determine the causes of gender inequality in the IT industry as well as to identify opportunities and prospects for career development in this field for girls and women and to present solutions and measures that can be taken to improve the representation of women in the IT industry. The theoretical and methodological basis of the article is based on the fundamental principles of gender equality as one of the basic priorities of sustainable development, concepts, models of ensuring gender equality in all areas of activity, specific aspects of ensuring gender equality in IT.
