Abstract:
The work represents a concern for the future of university accounting education, based on the assessment of the present situation. The research aims to contemplate and reconfigure accounting education, taking into account the existing challenges and context. For this purpose, the author carried out the documentary analysis and the field analysis of the situation in higher accounting education in the Republic of Moldova. Documentary analysis included the synthesis of information from educational policy documents, strategies, reports, regarding the main areas of reform for higher education in the Republic of Moldova, as well as information selected from the official pages of universities in the Republic of Moldova. The field analysis was carried out during the years 2022-2023 and focused on the efforts made by both universities, especially ASEM, to recruit students and align accounting education to international and regional best practices, as well as by employers on their way to - find a job.
