Abstract:
Tourism is changing rapidly as a result of the fact that nature, cultural and historical heritage, as well as ecologically clean touristic destinations, are becoming more and more important for the development of mass tourism, and also the requirements for protecting the environment tend to become stricter. This represents a challenge for both governments and tourism market agents, who must make a common front in protecting nature.
Therefore, the development of ecological touristic products should be the basis of the national supply, which can ensure the sustainability of a touristic destination, by increasing the demand from the consumer-tourists.
Through this article, the authors of the study draw the attention of the authorities, as well as of the tourism business environment, about the need to develop green tourism as a motivational form of non-invasive tourism, also urging the decision-makers to take into account the international experience in protecting the environment, ensuring- through this a sustainable development.
