Abstract:
Genocide is an international crime in which acts are committed with the intention of destroying, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. The facts are: killing all or part of the group members, causing serious bodily or mental harm to members, mutilation of the reproductive organs as well as the transfer of children from one group to another causing suffering to family members. The victims of the crime of genocide are members of the group, but not the individual. The national group represents people who have the same citizenship and who have the same rights and obligations. Ethnic groups are people who speak the same language and share the same culture. The racial group is people who are characterized by physical traits, but the religious group is members who have the same religion. Due to the unique features of the groups, they can be distinguished from other groups. The crime of genocide is a major problem that seriously violates human rights. JEL: K14.
