<description>Reducing Transfer Costs: from the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to a Tool for Validating the Economic Potential of the Diaspora
Chirvas, Cristina
Considering the current size of diasporas around the world, as well as their capacity to contribute to the economic development of the countries they come from, it becomes obvious that the financial contribution of the diaspora often considerably exceeds the economic possibilities of the state of origin. Under these conditions, more and more countries have become interested in capitalizing on and transforming the potential of the diaspora into a factor of sustainable economic development. With initiatives to boost remittance flows, challenges for diaspora members associated with high transfer costs have emerged internationally. Therefore, significantly reducing costs has become a goal of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, especially in the context of its goals related to poverty reduction and promoting financial inclusion. Thus, throughout this research, the author aims to treat the subject from the perspective of a holistic vision according to which reducing transfer costs represents one of the options through which the economic potential of the diaspora can be harnessed for the benefit of the countries of origin. <title>Foreign Direct Investment Screening in International Transactions: Mechanisms and Implications for Economic Security</title>
<link>https://irek.ase.md:443/xmlui/handle/123456789/4529</link>
<description>Foreign Direct Investment Screening in International Transactions: Mechanisms and Implications for Economic Security
Negoița, Olga
In recent years, foreign direct investment (FDI) screening has become a crucial tool for safeguarding national and economic security, especially in the context of growing geopolitical tensions and the increasing involvement of state-controlled investors. This article examines the legal framework of the European Union regarding FDI screening, particularly Regulation (EU) 2019/452, and assesses its implications for economic security across member states. The research also analyzes how the Republic of Moldova aligns its national legislation and institutional mechanisms with EU standards, focusing on Law No. 174/2021. The methodology combines comparative legal analysis and documentary research, supplemented by a case study of a sensitive foreign investment in strategic infrastructure. The findings reveal that while the EU has developed a balanced yet effective mechanism for screening high-risk investments without hindering economic openness, Moldova is still in the early stages of implementing its framework. However, legislative alignment is progressing, and the country has established legal tools to prevent potentially harmful investments. The study concludes that strengthening institutional capacity and enhancing cooperation with EU partners are essential steps for Moldova in ensuring long-term economic resilience and convergence with European security standards. <title>The Impact of Covid-19 and the Russian-Ukrainian War on Tourist Fluctuations in the Republic of Moldova</title>

<description>The Impact of Covid-19 and the Russian-Ukrainian War on Tourist Fluctuations in the Republic of Moldova
Ivancenco, Laurenția
Tourism plays a crucial role in the economic development of a country, significantly contributing to its GDP when managed effectively. However, the success of this sector varies depending on both internal and external factors. Moldova faces certain geographical limitations, lacking access to mountainous or coastal regions, which affects the types of tourism it can develop. Despite this, the country focuses its efforts on cultural, religious, and medical tourism, leveraging its historical heritage and authentic traditions. In recent years, the Moldovan tourism sector has been affected by two major crises: the 2020 pandemic and the war between Ukraine and Russia. The pandemic led to travel restrictions and a drastic decrease in tourist numbers, while the regional conflict turned Moldova into a transit country for refugees, impacting accommodation demand and altering economic priorities. This paper analyzes the impact of these events on Moldova’s tourism industry and explores the strategies implemented to mitigate negative effects. It also evaluates the recovery measures adopted by authorities, including the promotion of wine tourism and participation in international fairs. By understanding these dynamics, sustainable solutions for Moldova's tourism development can be identified in the current context marked by uncertainties. CZU: 338.484(478); JEL: Z320

<title>Current Challenges in Project Team</title>
<link>https://irek.ase.md:443/xmlui/handle/123456789/4527</link>
<description>Current Challenges in Project Team
Harghel, Dorina
Project team management is becoming more challenging due to rapid changes in technology, new work models, and limited resources. This paper explores the main difficulties faced by project managers. Three key areas of challenge are identified: team collaboration, remote and hybrid work, and resource limitations. Internal factors like poor communication, unclear roles, and emotional stress can affect team performance, while external changes require quick adaptation. The paper highlights the importance of emotional intelligence, trust, and flexible leadership. It draws on models such as Maxwell’s teamwork principles and Goleman’s emotional intelligence framework to suggest ways to improve collaboration. Practical recommendations include: setting up clear communication strategies, defining team roles (e.g. using the RACI matrix), encouraging continuous learning, supporting team well-being, and using flexible project methods adapted to the team’s context. In conclusion, successful project teams need not only good tools and digital skills, but also a strong team culture based on trust, adaptability, and open communication.
