Abstract: The ratification on July 2, 2014 by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova of the Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union represents an important step towards the full legislation of the political association and economic integration of the Republic of Moldova with the European Union. At the current stage, the European Union remains for the Republic of Moldova the most convincing model of development of European countries that ever existed. The general objective of transport policy is to strike a balance between economic development on the one hand and the quality and safety requirements of society on the other, in order to develop a modern and sustainable transport system. The aim of the Association Agreement in the field of road transport of goods and passengers is to promote an efficient transport system by liberalizing the market as much as possible by ensuring a level playing field.
