Abstract: The application of total quality management systems, whatever their nature, must take into account the requirements of compliance with environmental quality. And in ecology management there are several methods that can be successfully applied. Through this paper we aim to address the concept of total quality through the perspective of ecological efficiency. The research method involved identifying the bibliographic resources that address this field, from a theoretical point of view, but also the identification of practical situations that allowed the implementation of such strategies. The importance of the approaches has led us to narrow our research area and limit it to the field of tourism units. Finally, we identified four key steps that enable effective integration of eco-management. JEL: Q01, L15.
