The difficult socio-economic situation through which Moldova passes has a negative impact on the evolution of the geodemographic situation. Most demographic indicators show a significant decline, surpassing the optimal limit accepted by the international community. Demographic pressure or demographic dependence is a direct indicator of the labour market and overall socio-economic development. The objective of this study is to assess the demographic pressure in the Central Development Region localities in the current context of the implementation of the regional development policy, as well as to submit proposals regarding the geodemographic situation.
