Abstract: Population migration being a component part of contemporary society, undergo changes at every stage of the society development. With the new production and communication technologies, with changing social and geopolitical character in the world, also appear and the new trends in population migration. The existence of different classification approaches and the social structure of population migration, the diversity of forms and types reflect the complexity and unevenness of this social phenomenon. Immigration issues have become quite current in the Republic of Moldova once with gain independence and liberalization of foreign relations. External migration processes are a compulsory element of the phenomenon of globalization, with a growing influence on demographic processes within the republic. In this article are analysed the social aspects of immigration of the population in the Republic of Moldova as: immigration to work, studies, family reunion. This phenomenon is important for the population, because the quality of immigrants as a whole depends on the socio-cultural evolution of society. JEL CLASSIFICATION: R23
