Abstract: The article covers the legal responsibility for the violation of customs legislation, established by the Customs Code of the Republic of Moldova, the Offenses Code of the Republic of Moldova and the Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova. This topic is very relevant, firstly, because it is not adequately covered in our legal literature, and secondly, because the above codes contain norms that need to be changed. Legal responsibility for the violation of customs legislation is established by Articles 228, 229, 2291, 2292, 230-239 of the Customs Code of the Republic of Moldova, Articles 287, 2871, 2872 of the Offenses Code of the Republic of Moldova and Articles 248, 249 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova. Administrative responsibility for violation of customs legislation is established by Articles 228, 230 of the Customs Code of the Republic of Moldova and Articles 287, 2871, 2872 of the Offenses Code of the Republic of Moldova.
