To answer to questions regarding the environment, 30 years ago the concept of durable development was born and it tried to underline the rationality of consuming natural resources at a normal pace. In 1972, during the Stockholm conference on the environment, it is addressed the fact that human activity is the main factor that empowers environmental degradation and on the long run it harms mankind as final output. This research paper tries to attack the subject sideways, from the economic perspective of the 1970s and the ecological perspective of today’s economy. JEL CLASSIFICATION: R 150en_US
