Abstract: Subsidies are a primary tool for supporting and promoting the sustainable development of the agricultural sector, providing good opportunities for local farmers to support peasant households. The article analyzes the legal framework regarding subsidies in the Republic of Moldova, as well as their implications on accounting and financial reporting. The purpose of this research is to analyze and highlight the particularities of accounting and reporting of subsidies granted in the agricultural sector, in order to support their sustainable development and ensure the transparency of financial information provided to stakeholders. The results of the study clearly define the need for grant recognition, evaluation and reporting procedures to ensure efficiency in the use of public funds.
