Moldova applied for EU membership in March 2022 and was granted EU candidate status in June 2022. In December 2023, EU leaders decided to open accession negotiations. This thesis explores the challenges of modernizing national law in the context of integration and harmonization with European Union legislation. Through the analysis of specific cases, this work investigates ways in which EU law influences legal reforms at the national level. Using qualitative and quantitative research methods, the thesis highlights the main areas of impact and proposes recommendations for an efficient and sustainable integration of EU norms into the national legal system.
