We can remark the reorientation of banks towards the retail segment last time, due to the increase in the financial culture of the population, but especially due to the efforts made by the banks, through which the retail segment enjoys loans with small amounts, without proof of income, attracting in this way clients from microfinance institutions. The purpose of this article is to carry out a study on the market of bank credit granted to individuals, highlighting the trends outlined in bank lending, as well as the factors that determine them. In order to notice the essence of the processes in the field, we will analyze the credit portfolio of individuals, during the last five years.
