L FRAMEWORK OF THE RESEARCH: Actuality and importance of the researched topic. The Republic of Moldova faces multiple political and economic challenges that undermine the development capacity of its society. Although many of the challenges are related to external decision-making factors, i.e. they cannot be addressed without intensive international cooperation, the vast majority are directly related to us – the citizens of the country and the competitiveness and resilience of everything we do and build either physically – infrastructure, or conceptually – institutions, for example. This thesis evaluates the role of competitiveness and resilience of economic activities, including the national business environment, as factors that determine the capacity for growth and the security of citizens and businesses.en_US
