In this paper, we will try to reveal some peculiarities of the interaction between explicit and implicit derivation within the complex derivational paradigm (KDP) and describe the derivational characteristics of KDP derivatives. The proposed tasks are solved by analyzing the ways of interaction between morphological derivation and semantic derivation of the second tier and considering motivated lexical units through the prism of lexical derivation lato sensu. This approach sheds new light on the problem of multiple derivation in modern linguistics. From this point of view, our study allows us to expand the limits of the interpretation of the multiple derivation phenomenon in modern linguistics by identifying and describing its role in the formation of the semantic structure of the polysemantic derivatives.
