With the progressive development of informational technologies, the risks to which the users of these new technologies are exposed increased.. The appearance of the first virtual currencies triggered an increase in the society's interest to profit from the advantages of cryptocurrency. These seem like a perfect alternative to fiat money issued by central banks, but they can also present certain risks or potential abuses on the part of users. Criminals were the first to understand the enormous potential of cryptocurrency in operations and transactions that could not be traced by state bodies. Another widely known phenomenon is the involvement of companies in facilitating offshore areas. We believe that this topic would be of interest to both those interested in cryptocurrencies, and business administrators. JEL: K00, G21.en_US
