Dinamica eficienței economice a furnizorilor de energie în contextul liberalizării pieței de energie din România

Abstract

The liberalization of the energy market, respectively of the supply of electricity and natural gas, offers opportunities for energy suppliers consisting in the possibility of negotiating flexible and advantageous contracts. In this context, energy suppliers have a real and effective opportunity to improve their market share and increase their business efficiency. Considering this opportune moment, we chose to evaluate the economic efficiency and performance of S.C. OMV PETROM S.A. company as one of the main energy suppliers, listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. The company specializes in the production and refining of crude oil and gas, as well as the production of electricity. OMV PETROM has a double advantage, both from the perspective of the assets held that allow it to obtain a higher market share, and from the perspective of market expertise and membership in a multinational chain, namely the OMV Aktiengesellschaft group. Based on the proposed goal, we defined several objectives, namely the dynamic evaluation of the company's financial performance, the identification of critical points in its dynamics, including during periods of economic recession and the realization of projections to evaluate the advantage of Romania's new policy on the energy market of economic operators.
