Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on global and national economies. Many experts call the current crisis the biggest crisis of the 21st century. The negative economic consequences of the pandemic are felt by hundreds of millions of workers around the world, including migrant workers. The changing socio-economic situation of labor migrants is pervasive. However, it varies greatly depending on the destination country (some countries have proven to be better prepared to face economic and social threats). The situation of migrant workers is directly linked to the migration policy promoted by the destination countries. JEL: J6
