dc.description.abstract The beginning of the post-war period is marked by a surplus of flying equipment. The complexity and the standardization of the producing procedures of traveling, in accordance with the complex structure of the tourist sector, have been contributed to the creation and development variable of reservation systems. System that will collect stocks of information, programs and tariffs from suppliers to give travel agencies and tour operators the opportunity to search and choose the most convenient flight offer. In this work, it has been produced a report which show the importance of global distribution system (GDS) and the gradual appearance of some certain systems that are used until now to make a reservation in the tourism department. It presents the main features of each system and the process of finalizing a reservation by a travel agency. Finely in the conclusion are included the benefits for tourism industry by using these particular informatics systems. JEL: L20, L22, L25, L93 en_US
