Since the ancient times, nutrition has been and remains a phenomenon as compulsory for life and health, as diverse and complex. Nowadays it is known that nutrition imprints deeply on the pathology of the contemporary man, as a result of the imbalance between the intake of nutrients. In order to satisfy his vital needs, the man has at his disposal a quite wide assortment of food, but neither of them is ideal. Each one has both positive characteristics and shortcomings. In recent decades, healthy eating as a priority component of a healthy lifestyle, as well as a means of preventing corneal diseases, has become a major concern for the specialists around the world. Food risk factors (excessive intake of salt, sugar, fat and energy) lead to the development of metabolic risk factors (high blood pressure, increased cholesterol, increased blood glucose, overweight and obesity).
