Abstract:
Password managers are common software solutions to store secure and valuable information like banking credentials, passwords or personal information. Our goal is to design a password manager using a new approach to manage private data. We analyze problems of existing solutions, propose our own design and technique, and finally implement a solution. Our application does not store passwords in any form on the memory but instead generates them on the fly by processing the user input and other variables combined with a key derivation function. Finally, we elaborate limitations of our approach and suggest future work. JEL: C63
