Abstract:
This article will explore the growing emphasis on sustainability and eco-responsibility in modern agriculture, driven by global climate concerns and shifting consumer expectations. It begins by contextualizing the urgency of climate action, referencing projected temperature increases and the historical evolution of sustainability movements. The discussion then shifts to how these trends have influenced agricultural practices, particularly the rise of eco-responsibility as a key focus for businesses. The article outlines a study involving agricultural companies certified under international sustainability standards, highlighting their adoption of eco-friendly practices such as water-efficient irrigation, crop rotation, and organic pest management. It examines the motivations behind these changes—including market demands, regulatory pressures, and climate resilience—and evaluates their economic and environmental impacts. Additionally, the piece addresses challenges faced by farmers in transitioning to sustainable methods and the role of certifications in enhancing credibility and market access. By synthesizing survey responses and existing literature, the article aims to demonstrate how sustainable agriculture can balance ecological stewardship with profitability. The conclusion reflects on broader implications for the sector, advocating for continued innovation and stakeholder collaboration to address global environmental crises.
