Transformations of the Economic Behavior in a Digital Context

Abstract

The digital economy is profoundly transforming economic behaviors, influencing the way transactions are conducted, financial decisions are made and products and services are accessed. These changes create both opportunities and challenges, requiring rapid adaptation. This research examines the evolution of the digital economy, the main trends and their impact on the development of the wider economy for a clear perspective, relevant sources such as the documents of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the Digital Transformation Strategy 2023- 2030 and the data of the National Bank of Moldova were studied. International resources such as Statista and the World Economic Forum were also used to understand global trends. Therefore, the results of the research highlighted the increasing share of e-commerce, changing consumer behavior and the need for effective cybersecurity measures in order to develop a secure and sustainable digital economy CZU: [339.16:004]:366.1(100); JEL: O33, O14
