Abstract:
The article analyzes the barriers that students encounter after graduating in finding a job and supporting a
balance between work and studies. Throughout our research we have identified two main problems: 1) students are required to have work experience if they’re looking for an average salary and 2) the job offers for students are unattractive and don’t support the youth into being motivated to work. For analysis purposes we conducted a
Google Forms including 36 students from the accounting faculty of ASEM, the results have clearly revealed the fact that scolarships are not enough for a student, due to this, they have to work and eventually stop ccessibilit studies. For a further capture of the issue, we compared Republic of Moldova with two other countries: Romania and Great Britain. We have come to the conclusion that Republic of Moldova is the only one whose average accountant salary isn’t bigger than its general country average salary. Even though cost of studies is more expensive, in Romania and Great Britain we see a much larger possibility of earning a significant salary and climbing the career ladder. In spite of the fact that cost of studies is rising each year in Republic of Moldova, we were glad to see that the number of enrolled students in the Economic field hasn’t dropped since last year (2022-2023 37,9%; 2023-2024 39%), in fact it has increased by almost 2%.
