Abstract

Commercial debt restructuring and settlement plays a key role in supporting economic stability and promoting business resilience. This paper examines various aspects of commercial debt settlement and restructuring, highlighting their importance, methodologies and resulting effects, using a mixed methods approach. Importantly, the research highlights the importance of debt restructuring as a strategic financial tool for businesses facing financial difficulties or seeking to optimize their capital structure. The results show that successful debt restructuring initiatives not only ease financial burdens but also contribute to improving long-term sustainability. In addition, the analysis identifies key factors influencing the effectiveness of debt resolution efforts, including creditor cooperation, regulatory frameworks and market conditions. This research contributes to the understanding of commercial debt restructuring, providing evidence and practical implications for businesses, financial institutions and policymakers.
