Abstract:
This paper aims to highlight the issue of corruption and the main generating causes in the European Union countries and Moldova for the period 2005-2014. Descriptive analyzes performed on our sample confirm these causal relationship which are document in literature research. It is about the relationship between corruption on the one hand and living standards and public governance on the other hand. Thus, we find that European Union countries belonging to the former Communist bloc and the Republic of Moldova as a country from the former communist bloc U.R.S.S. face the highest levels of corruption. These countries face în the same time both the lowest levels of living (as reflected by the GDP /capita) and a lowest level of public governance efficiency. The paper ends with we some anti-corruption measures designed to promote more pronounced the increase of public confidence in the justice and administration in the Member States.
