dc.description.abstract Moldovan wine is a quality product, with some unique characteristics, specific with the place of origin, terroir and local traditions. High quality of wine products from the Republic of Moldova is guaranteed by the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) and Protected Designation of Origin (PDO)-evidence that assures the consumer that the product is native from a delimited wine-growing area, obtained from certain grape varieties and is produced according some strict rules. In Moldova, there are three wine-growing areas: Codru, Valul lui Traian and Ștefan Vodă. The purpose of this research was to investigate what moldovan wine products with PGI are present on the local market, their price and what special propreties difference them from other wines. I made a scientific research on each wine-growing area of Moldova, the best wine products with PGI and anlysed the price difference of moldovan and other foreign wines with DOC. JEL:Q11 en_US
