dc.description.abstract For the definition of free time, there are two major tendencies in the specialized books: individualisation of free time as a sequence of physiological time, an assumption that free time can be associated with the period of time that is obtained after the decrease of the 24 hours of a day, working time, basic physiological time, time spent on household activities and other time sequences, and identifying activities that are compatible with the individual's freedom of choice, that is, those activities that give the individual the possibility to relax, rest, recreate, relax, and information, entertainment, group formation and personality development. Free time is increased through service categories and paradoxically is also consumed through service activities. The structure of free time but also the way it is consumed changes frequently with the change of the living standard and the lifestyle of the population and this is precisely this issue that gives topicality to this theme. The purpose of the paper is to present what are the main categories of services used by consumers in their spare time, what is the weight in the free time budget and how they contribute to the restoration of the individual's work capacity. To make this survey, we will appeal to the results obtained by processing a questionnaire used in a market survey, but also to the available statistical data from which we will analyze how the free time dimension influences the increase in tourism occupation and income. Free time contributes to the economic growth of any country, as it gives the population the opportunity to restore the work capacity that contributes to the increase in labor productivity, but also through the activities of services used in leisure time.
