Monks have a diet involving meat deprivation and the abstinence from several products. According to the research, the pathologies such cancer, obesity, cardiovascular diseases have not been identified. This is certainly a way to prevent and treat some of the most dangerous pathologies. The purpose of the current study was to determine the features of monastic cuisine, and to analyze the conclusions provided by international research on the benefits of vegetarian diet. The research methods were based on the study of conclusions made by several international specialists, as well as various electronic sources. One of the more significant findings to emerge from this study is that the monks were not diagnosed with heart disease, cardiac arrest, vascular damage, or Alzheimer's disease.
